Stanisław Legus  ZMROK

Żeby zobaczyć wystawę najnowszych prac Stanisława Legusa trzeba przyjść punktualnie. Ekspozycja pomimo swojej pełnowymiarowości w odniesieniu do definicji wystawy, będzie miała charakter ruchomy, performatywny, o znamionach spektaklu. „Zmrok” odbędzie się tylko raz i potrwa około godziny. Proszę się nie obawiać, widzowie nie będą proszeni o jakikolwiek współudział poza standardowym dla wernisażu sztuk wizualnych, wystarczy samo patrzenie. To patrzenie właśnie będzie poddawane eksperymentom, to ono będzie tematem wystawy/spektaklu.

Projekt ekspozycji jest wynikiem współpracy Czułości i Matosek Niezgoda.

Stanisław Legus posługuje się fotografią w sposób intuicyjny. Nie nadaje jej żadnej symboliki, ani nie angażuje się w ramy biurokratycznej dyskusji o sztuce. Rzeczywistość raczej kontestuje, wytwarzając własne niezależne formy uczestnictwa. Motywem w zdjęciach Legusa jest to, co otacza go prywatnie. Znaczenie jest tak subiektywne, że przestaje mieć cechy argumentu w racjonalnej dyskusji. Merytoryczna redukcja jest poszukiwaniem braku intencjonalności. Zdjęcia na wystawie są obrazem rzeczywistości w ogóle, gdzie bardziej czytelna wobec niej staje się postawa niż krytyka. W przeciwieństwie do tego co jest obrazowane, sama forma prac na wystawie jest jednoznacznie realnym obiektem, na który składają się jednocześnie wszystkie jego aspekty, również te abstrakcyjne ale dodatkowo stanowi też element większej całości, jak chociażby najbliższego sobie otoczenia, w tym wypadku instalacji wystawy w przestrzeni. Obiekt fotograficzny w takim przedstawieniu staje się niezależnym bytem i oddziałuje na odbiorcę we wszystkich swoich aspektach równocześnie.

Wystawie towarzyszyć będzie premiera książki Stanisława Legusa pt. Zmrok

Czułość jest grupą artystów badających medium fotografii i świadomie ograniczających się do cech i znaczeń tego medium. Wycięty w przestrzeni kadr poszerza horyzont patrzenia o to co nie zostało w nim ujęte. Aparat fotograficzny jest robotem, to on robi zdjęcia, to również ważne ograniczenie dla zrozumienia udziału artysty.

Stanisław Legus DUSK

ATTENTION, PLEASE! Be on time if you want to be part of the show – Stanisław Legus will be showcasing his latest works. Still a display as such, the exhibition will be of a rather unstationary, performative character, with elements of a theatre spectacle. DUSK will run only once and will run for an hour. Do not worry, the spectators will not be expected to do anything out of ordinary, it’s still a visual arts show – looking will do. In fact, looking will be subject to the experiment and will be the main theme of the show. The final, permanent, object-oriented format of Legus’ works can be achieved through consecutive learning stages.

The design of the display came to life as a mutual effort of Czułość Gallery and Matosek Niezgoda.

Stanisław Legus uses the photographic medium in an intuitive way. Stripped of any symbolics whatsoever, his art steers clear of any bureaucratised art discourse. Defying the reality, the artist paves his own independent ways. His immediate surroundings are the main motif in his works. The affirmation. The meaning is personal to such an extent, it couldn’t serve as an argument in a rational discussion. Conceptual reduction equals searching for the lack of intentionality. The photographs on display reflect the reality as such, where the author’s attitude, rather than the critique, gets tangible.
Now, have a look at the aesthetics. Unlike the depiction itself, the sole format of the presentation is clear-cut and contains all the elements of the object, including the abstract ones. It also forms part of a bigger whole, take the immediate environment – the display installation in a space in this case. The photographic object depicted in such paricular manner becomes an independent entity, engaging the spectator with all its aspects.
The DUSK private view will also see the premiere showcase of the latest publication by Stanisław Legus, under the same title.
